Rocketboys concert
The Rocketboys, five ACU alums, wrapped up Summit with a free concert in the Bean Wednesday. They plan to release their next CD, titled 20,000 Ghosts, Tuesday (according to their Myspace). Listen to a few tracks here; click the photos to see them larger.
Our videographer Blane Singletary created a video of the event also, which can be found here.

Summit 2009
Every fall ACU hosts a series of lectures over a four-day period called Summit, with classes sporadically throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m and other events later at night (schedule). During Summit, the Optimist publishes on Sunday and Tuesday instead of the normal Wednesday and Friday. For Tuesday’s publication, we created a photo spread of the “range of ages” of Summit attendees to show that there are a variety of activities targeted at different age groups. Here is the photo set.

This is the latest uploaded issue (9/11/09). WordPress currently doesn’t allow embedding with the free blogs, and I don’t want to pay for this, so no dice. Click the link though. 🙂
In other news, I have gone back through all previous posts and updated the broken links to my published articles.
Have a great Friday! Next home football game tomorrow; check back for photos.
Freshmen are putting on their annual show this weekend called “Freshmen Follies.”

Grover Nelson Park
Here are some photos from yesterday’s shoot at the park, focusing on depth of field and shutter speed for my art photography class. This was my first time shooting with film, and I found it nearly suffocating to stick to one roll of 24 exposures, but it definitely is great experience. I used a Canon EOS Elan II with a 300mm f2.8 lens; these photos are completely unaltered.
